Pysankas are traditional style colored eggs originating from Latvia. Some symbolisms put onto the egg are supposed to represent things like, a good harvest, riches, and many other things. Also good for throwing at people :).
This is the beginning process of designing the egg. Starting by drawing the design onto the egg. Afterwards the egg will be added to a colored dye and have wax added onto it before its put into a different colored dye.
This is a completed pysanka.
As I completed coloring and melting the wax off of the eggs, I started to get into a bit of a rhythm of doing it.
The first few I did came out a little bit sloppy and left some marks of a color that I didn't think was there.
Near the end of making the eggs they started to come out a lot cleaner & had a better look.
The nontraditional eggs are mainly based off of books/shows I have watched.
They somewhat represent me as a person, reflecting on the genres that I like/ tend to read or watch.
The traditional eggs are mainly based off of symbols for good harvest, and riches. I MIGHT have priorities in life and they MAY just be money.
